Boats and the Blues
This summer, all you need are boats and the blues.
The Gateway Arch Riverboats’ Blue Cruise has been a St. Louis riverfront tradition for years, and features a different blues entertainer each cruise. We hope you can join us a Thursday this summer – as nobody leaves the Gateway Arch Riverboats Blues Cruise without singin’ the blues.
June 15: Big George
Big George’s blues is gritty and raw. He has played with many of the big names in blues, including Muddy Waters, Albert King, Little Milton and Jimmy Reed.
June 29: Billy Peek
This St. Louis-bred guitarist for Chuck Berry and Rod Stewart gives a hard-driving combination of rock ‘n’ roll and rhythm and blues.
July 13: Skeet Rodgers & the Inner City Blues Band
Considered one of the best blues bands in St. Louis, Skeet Rodgers & the Inner City Blues Band is led by Charles “Skeet” Rodgers and Sandra Carter on vocals.
August 10: Soulard Blues Band
Formed in 1978, the Soulard Blues band is fronted by Art Dwyer, who has performed with Chuck Berry, Henry Townsend, Doc Terry and Tommy Bankhead, among many others.
August 24: Big Mike & the Blu-City All-Stars
Led by Big Mike Aguirre, the Blu-City All-Stars are easily capable of making you feel the burn of Guitar Slim’s aching, heart-wrenching blues to Earl King’s funky Big Easy R&B.
Reservations are required. $22/adults. Must be 21 or older to attend. Purchase tickets at www.gatewayarch.com/buytickets.
