We hope you have your Halloween jokes ready, STL! Halloween is soon approaching and there are so many ways to celebrate everyone’s favorite “spooktacular” holiday in the Lou. Here are some events and activities around town to get you and the whole family in the Halloween spirit before the big day!

Halloween Nights at Grant’s Farm

October 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, 29

6 to 9 p.m.

St. Louis’ favorite farm is hosting a Halloween celebration unlike any other. Stop by with family or friends to check out the spooky lights and decorations, go on a nighttime tram ride through the deer park, enjoy a Halloween-themed show, and end the night with the DJ in the courtyard displaying your best “Monster Mash” dance moves!

You are encouraged to arrive early as this is a very popular event (especially on Friday and Saturday nights). The parking lot opens at 5:45 p.m., and parking is $20 per car. If you do not pay for parking, admission for walk-ups is $5 per person.

Ghosts of the Arch Grounds + Stargazing

Saturday, October 21, 6:30 p.m.

Nothing says Halloween in STL like ghosts on the Arch Grounds! Meet at the south leg of the Arch to learn about the various “incarnations” of the Arch Grounds as it evolved from French Colonial village to a warehouse district to the present National Park site. After the tour, there will be a free telescope viewing near the north leg of the Arch, presented by the St. Louis Astronomical Society. Weather permitting, you will be able to see the crescent moon and Saturn!

Friday, October 20 & 27, 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Saturday, October 21 & 28, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Sunday, October 22 & 29, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Kids of all ages are invited to dress in their best Halloween costumes and join The Magic House for a trick-or-treating extravaganza they will never forget! Instead of candy, participants will receive a trick-or-treating bag with an autograph book and meet and receive autographs from their favorite storybook characters from classics such as The Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter, Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland.

Halloween Costume Party Cruise

Saturday, October 28

8 to 11 p.m.

For those 21 and over looking to show off their costumes, hop on the Gateway Arch Riverboats’ Halloween Costume Party Cruise. You can compete in the costume contest on the Mississippi River while enjoying Halloween festivities and a great view of the St. Louis skyline. There will be a DJ, cash bar, light hors d’oeuvres, Halloween treats, and a grand prize for the best Halloween costume – two tickets to the New Year’s Eve Cruise!

Tickets are $26 and guests must be at least 21 years of age with a valid ID.

Halloween in the Central West End

Saturday, October 28

11 a.m. to midnight

Halloween in the Central West End has something for everyone this year! In the early afternoon, bring the family for the kids’ costume parade and party, trick-or-treating at neighborhood businesses, and a dog costume parade. Later on, the 21+ crowd can enjoy the adults-only party with live music, fire dancers, an adults-only costume contest, hula hoop dancers and more.  It’s sure to be a wicked-good time!

Boo at the Zoo

Nightly through October 30

5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Pumpkin painting, a forest fairyland, a Halloween-themed circus-performer show, and interactive storytelling…what more could you ask for? The Saint Louis Zoo has all of this and more for your little tykes to enjoy. Children 12 and under are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and participate in a variety of activities, in addition to receiving a treat bag. Families can pose with pumpkins and scarecrows, learn about some of the Zoo’s creepier animals, and parents can grab a drink while kids play bean bag toss, limbo and more.

Red’s Corn Maze Massacre at Brookdale Farms

Friday and Saturday nights through October 29

For those looking for a good Halloween scare, head to Brookdale Farms in Eureka to brave Red’s Corn Maze. According to tale, the maze is haunted by an evil force that took over Jebediah “Red” Slaughter and his brother Bob many years ago. The brothers, possessed by the evil force, butchered every animal and innocent person on the farm before wandering into the corn field, never to be seen again. Who’s ready for 22 acres of terror?
