MEET OUR CREW: Gina explains what makes working at the Riverboats so unique
Gina Kabat is a Server and Cashier aboard the Riverboats at the Gateway Arch. She’s in her first season with the crew and is already making her friends jealous with her job working on the St. Louis Riverfront.
Q: Why did you apply for a job at the Riverboats at the Gateway Arch?
A: I thought it be neat to meet people and greet them coming on the boats. I thought everybody would be having fun because people come down here to have fun. It’s an interesting place to work
Q: What makes you smile when you come to work?
A: Look at this out here! Who wouldn’t smile? You get to work outside and in nice weather. Much better than being in a building for eight hours. It’s just a nice environment.
Q: What do you love most about the job?
A: Meeting people from all over the world. And the people I work with because they are all so nice here. Very nice. I’ve meet people from places like China and all over the United States.
Q: How cool is it that you get to work at Riverboats?
A: It’s great, I think I’m lucky that I get to work here. It makes me feel good because a lot of places don’t give you the opportunity to have fun and see people smile. There are lots of happy people.
Q: How do you like your managers here?
A: They are great! If you do a good job, they will let you know. If you’re a hard worker and you shine they see it and they will say something. That’s what I like. Everybody is so helpful and really good about training you.
