Rainy Day Fun
Rain, rain, go away, and sunshine, come out to play!
We love being outside, but when the weather gets rough, don’t get down. There is plenty of fun to be had indoors in STL. Here are a few things to do inside when Mother Nature decides to not play nice.
Upper Limits Rock Climbing Gym
The sky’s the limit at Upper Limits Indoor Rock Climbing Gym – well, technically, the roof is! Located in the heart of downtown, Upper Limits is an adventure to be had for thrill-seekers. No experience rock climbing? No problem! All experience levels are welcome. Check out their website for various classes and specialty programs and to plan your visit. Upper Limits also has locations in Maryland Heights and Chesterfield.
Saint Louis Art Museum
The Saint Louis Art Museum is the first North American art museum to tell the story of one of the greatest finds in the history of underwater archaeology – a story that revealed two lost cities of ancient Egypt submerged under the Mediterranean Sea for over a thousand years. “Sunken Cities: Egypt’s Lost Worlds” exhibit is on view until September 9 and features more than 200 authentic artifacts. Tram Ride to the Top
Be transported 630 feet to the top of the Gateway Arch for exhilarating views of St. Louis and the Mississippi River. The Tram Ride to the Top ticket includes Arch entry, admission to the award-winning documentary movie Monument to the Dream, as well as a 60’s-themed pre-boarding experience before the ride! Tickets sell out early and often in the spring and summer months, so it is strongly encouraged to purchase your tram tickets in advance at www.gatewayarch.com/buytickets.
City Museum
Bring it on, Enchanted Caves! Your imagination will run wild at the City Museum, where exhibits are mostly made of repurposed architectural and industrial objects. Housed in a 600,000-square-foot building, the museum is an eclectic funhouse for all ages disguised as a children’s playground. Are you brave enough to ride the 10-foot slide? Click here to purchase tickets.
St. Louis Blues Hockey Game
Beep, beep, beep! Let’s go Blues! Our hometown hockey team is wrapping up their regular season with two final home games the first week of April: April 2 against the Washington Capitals, and on April 4 against St. Louis rival Chicago Blackhawks. Sightings of the Towel Man, Louie and the Blue Crew are also included. Get your tickets today!
