Rollin’ on the Riverboats
Riverboat cruise season is here!
Since their arrival on the downtown Mississippi riverfront 54 years ago, the Riverboats at the Gateway Arch have provided millions of people unique river adventures not found anywhere else in the region.
The boats kick off their 2018 cruise season on March 3. And lucky for you, there is a cruise for everyone.
History buffs, take note: Learn about the history of the Lou and the role the Mississippi River plays today on the St. Louis Riverfront Cruise, offered daily beginning March 3. The boat captain or a National Park Service ranger narrates this cruise, which also explores famous STL landmarks and architecture.
Dinner with a side of the Gateway Arch is on the menu with the Skyline Dinner Cruise, offered Friday and Saturdays beginning in April. Enjoy live Dixieland music while feasting on a delicious dinner buffet and taking in illuminated views of the downtown skyline at night.
On select Thursdays, nobody leaves the riverboats without singing and dancing to some of the area’s most popular blues artists such as Billy Peek, Jeremiah Johnson and the Soulard Blues Band on the Blues Cruise, which was named “Best Place to Slow Dance” by the Riverfront Times!
Sundays are for brunch – and the riverboats agree! This spring and summer, enjoy a Sunday Funday on the Sunday Brunch Cruise, where you’ll enjoy live Dixieland music and a delectable brunch buffet. (Bonus: The Easter Sunday Brunch Cruise on April 1 features an appearance by the Easter Bunny!)
What’s Independence Day without fireworks? With the return of Fair Saint Louis to the Gateway Arch grounds, you can catch the Fair’s spectacular fireworks show on the popular Fireworks Cruise, July 4, 6 & 7. Please note that this cruise is very popular and will sell out soon, so it’s best to purchase your tickets in advance.
While you’re at it, grab some grub while you’re at the boats! Burgers, toasted ravioli hot dogs and even funnel cake fries are available at the Arch View Café located on the dock of the riverboats. The café is open for lunch Saturdays and Sundays in April, and daily May through September.
The riverboats are also available for private charters such as happy hours, special dinners and even weddings. A variety of packages and menu options are available for groups of all sizes. Click here for more details.
