The St. Louis Riverfront Cruise Returns
March brings a lot of fun to St. Louis: Mardi Gras, St. Patrick’s Day, spring break… and the return of the St. Louis Riverfront Cruise aboard the Riverboats at the Gateway Arch on Saturday, March 9.
Located on the historic St. Louis riverfront below the south leg of the Gateway Arch, the Riverboats at the Gateway Arch offer a unique point of view, as passengers relive the days when steamboats ruled the river. Discover the mighty Mississippi’s important role in America’s past and the present-day on this one-hour cruise along St. Louis’ working downtown riverfront, narrated by the captain or a National Park Service (NPS) ranger.
April through October, visitors can enjoy lunch at the Paddlewheel Café—located on the riverboats’ dock—where they can enjoy amazing views of the Arch while dining on burgers, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, ice cream and more.
The Riverboats at the Gateway Arch are a part of the oldest Mississippi excursion boat company that has called St. Louis its home port since 1917. The riverboats were originally brought to St. Louis in 1964 to accommodate the spectators who wanted a closer look at the construction of the Gateway Arch. Today, after more than 50 years, the Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher continue to offer the best views of St. Louis and the Gateway Arch from the Mississippi River.
This cruise runs daily from March 9 through December 1, 2019. Times vary, so call (877) 982-1410 for the daily schedule.
