Staycation Idea: Visit Gateway Arch National Park!
St. Louis metro residents, listen up! As the winter settles in, now is a great time to staycation and visit your favorite St. Louis attractions – including Gateway Arch National Park!
The park has implemented numerous health and safety protocols and procedures – including reduced capacity inside the Arch facility, social distancing guidelines and face mask requirements – so you can easily and safely explore America’s tallest monument.
The Museum at the Gateway Arch, which highlights more than 200 years of St. Louis history, is free for all to enjoy, and National Park Service rangers are ready to lead you on a guided tour of its six exhibit galleries. Kids can take part in the NPS Junior Ranger program to earn a special Junior Ranger badge. Just inquire with a park ranger on site to learn more – there are many themed badges to earn!
After your museum tour, take a Tram Ride to the Top – one of the most unique experiences in the world! – and view the incredible sights of downtown St. Louis and the Mississippi River from 630 feet in the sky. Health and safety modifications to the Tram Ride allow visitors their own tram car as well as designated windows at the top. Back on ground level, you can also watch the award-winning documentary movie, “Monument to the Dream,” which chronicles the construction of the Arch.
